post 131: look back on 2022 progress

  Some of my entries have been posted in a different date - but I am going based on the dates that I posted in LJ for post 123 - 125. 

 

Some months were skipped so probably not as productive as I was in the past. 

January 

  
+I started off the year by creating icons for somein30 , monthlyinspo,  and capicontest. I focused on adding text to my icons which I tend to not liking to do because it's my weakness. Also, focused on compositions. 

February 

 
+I created icons for somein30 , monthlyinspo,  stocklove_ic,  capicontest, elitesimplicity @lj, color_inspired

 and icontalking. I focused on negative spacing, lighting, and compositions. My favorite icon is literally the stargirl/Courtney masking/close cropping. The screencap itself was so dark and I love how I made her skin look glowing/dewy!

March - May: No icons made during this time. 

June

   
+ I created icons for somein30 and capicontest. I focused on challenges that I missed and wanted to complete for the somein30, such as light and darkness that focused on lighting and bingo which focused on different prompts. I focused on compositions, textures, text work and animated icons. 

August - July: No icons made during this time. 

September
  
+I created icons for iconcolors, somein30, stocklove_ic, and monthlyinspo. I had so much fun focusing on coloring, composition, text work, and textures for this post. 

October
    
+I created icons for somein30 and focused on different symmetrical shapes and use of textures/composition. 

 November: No icons were made

December

   
+I created four different posts for this month, specifically for somein30, monthlyinspo, and tvmovie20in20. I realized that my last post, some of the icons are super sharp and I didn't notice that until after the submission (oops!) I focused mostly on coloring and using different inspirations/text for the latest somein30 post. 

Closing Thoughts: I feel like I've probably started out wanting to work on my goals that I usually have working on more complex compositions and text work but due to time crunch I ended up doing my style (negative space I guess or even doing stock icons). So to work on my same goals - complex composition and text work especially when I have the time to do so.

Explanations: 

These icons can also be nominated for bestof_icons since they were created in 2022 and remade in 2022. 

First icon - okay, I went overboard, but I kept the idea of doing a close cropping, especially on the face area. 
Second icon - I just wanted to keep the coloring scheme that I used - so pink (especially on Emma's dress) and orange as the background color. 
Third icon - Same coloring and composition for the subject, but added green background and text - just to practice more of my text work. 
Fourth icon - I loved using the screencap from Courtney (Stargirl), so I decided to practice my blocking instead of. 
Fifth icon - I used Hope again but different screencap and kept the purple coloring (that's subtle in the original icon) and colored her hair and close cropping. 
Sixth icon - I used a different screencap from Loki tv show, but it still has the premise of Loki looking up and kept the negative spacing aspect and added in text work to practice my text work. 
Seventh icon - I used a different screencap from Dune, and tried to use negative spacing (but this time on a close cropping instead) and also the blue coloring can be seen in her eyes.
